As James sits in a class that he really dislikes I am making Mac n’ Cheese for dinner….crazy. Never thought I would make Mac n’ Cheese, healthy too!  Whole wheat pasta, spinach, cottage cheese, peas, and broccoli.  We shall see how this turns out. I think we have tried to be a bit more creative with our meals and other nights we just order pizza (I am learning that this is how life is for most). O’ the joys of dinner.

Also, as James expands his brain… I sit and look at pictures like this one, and wish I was there (and I wish I had that outfit!) :

sigh…

I really am enjoying my job right now…..

Caught My Eye

I have been reading some blogs, a small addiction that my friend warned me about. However, I am learning about all these amazing things that people are doing, wearing, and creating. It has stirred a creativity in me and a respect for the work people do. Here are some fun things that have caught my eye.

“the wall that i painted in cape town recently was sponsored by the british council. the image was inspired by a picture that alexia webster took in macassar, cape town… of protesters, women, children, men and the elderly… “backyarders” – families who live in back yards because there is no space or housing available or provided by the state…” (via Wooster Collective)

I used to read these explodingdog in college. I just found it again and it makes me smile. People send him titles and he draws pictures. Peoples’ brains are so interesting.

These are my favorite boots from Free People!

This father makes pancakes for his little daughter. They are edible works of art!!

I love this library… (via mi casa es su casa)

More will come. Despite the addiction, there is life to live and things to create. These are all fun ideas and ways to spur my own imagination. Have fun!

Poo Free

I think I’m going to return the shampoo and conditioner I just bought today. Upon coming home I opened my friends blog to read about her “Poo Free” method of washing hair (shamPoo free that is).  It all makes sense. As I washed my hair with baking soda and water (+ a lil’ chamomile) I thought about all the products we buy into, all the marketing, all the cool color bottles and sweet smelling things. However when you break it down it is just sweet smelling toxins in a pretty bottle. I think James and I will make the switch…..

Here is her post and other offerings

Why I Don’t Shampoo My Hair Anymore

Herbs

To Balance You

On the day when
the weight deadens
on your shoulders
and you stumble,
may the clay dance
to balance you.
And when your eyes
freeze behind
the grey window
and the ghost of loss
gets in to you,
may a flock of colours,
indigo, red, green,
and azure blue
come to awaken in you
a meadow of delight.

Beautiful Reflection

I loved this video. It is beautiful and very reflective of life and living. Makes me want to wander around Indiana and see the simple beauties and record them in such away that it reflects the imagination and artistry of the Lord.
